Lesser Antilles
The plan here is that, upon escaping the Guianas, an easy way out is via Trinidad. That of course opens the door to islands of the Lesser Antilles, some of which are connected by ferry. The idea is to fly up St. Lucia and then make my way by ferry to Martinique, Dominica and Guadeloupe, from where I will have a decent connection back to Switzerland via Paris.
A bit of research indicates that Trinidad is not part of the Lesser Antilles, but I will deal with Trinidad here when the time comes. I only plan to spend one night there, anyway. So I may not have anything to say, although that would surprise me. Actually, I won't have much to say. As of Dec 16, my flight to Trinidad was cancelled, forcing me to forego my one night in Trinidad. I will have a 5 am flight and will fly on to St. Lucia directly. Pity. It seems to be the result of the US having virtually closed down the Venezuelan airspace.
